1. About running Environment
Java is necessary in running Search++, if it is dected that there is no java installed, system will prompt a message to remind users to download java first.
You can also download and install java from the below site manually.

2．About search key
In our system,once the words are input and search button is pressed, those words will be analyzed by the system before using it in searching, which is called keyword parsing. by default, any file that contains one of the word in the result string will be displayed. however, if you use double quotation to enclose the words you input, the parsing process will be skipped. the words you input will work as search key, all the files containing the exact string you input will get hit. Thus, if you are using name of person or address, please remember to use double quotations to enclose it.

3. Search network disk
It is possible to search the network disk.in fact by providing the multiselect-folder- dialog, user can not only specify the folder in local drive but also network folder.

4. Background index-creating process
Index-creating process is a background one that running behind. Once you specify a certain folder, the index data of that folder will be created. Any change in the specified folder will trigger the index-creating process and cause the index data updated automatically.

5. Multi-language
This system support UTF-8 code, it means that all the index data is created in utf-8 format. by doing so, it will support multilanguage without special setting

6. Open file by the linked program
Right click the result list, select [open file] menu, the current file will be opened by the linked program. if the current file is of PDF/Excel/Word/Powerpoint/ format and search key is a single word, then the file will be opened with the keyword highlighted.

7. AND/OR/NOT Search
Grammatical conjunction (AND/OR/NOT) can be used in search string. they indicate that one or more of the cases it connects may occur. AND means that both of the words it connected are in the matched files while OR means that either of the words is in the matched files.

8. Hotkey function
In option screen, user can define the hotkey to activate the search screen when system is working in trayicon mode. Anytime when user pressed the hotkey defined, main screen of the system will popup. This function works well except that Adobe Reader is running at protected mode.
To disable the protected mode of Adobe Reader, just follow the steps:
Reader X: [edit]menu->[Preferences]->[General] Tab, Deselect Enable Protected Mode at startup
Reader XI: [edit]menu->[Preferences]->[Security(Enhanced)], In the Sandbox Protections area, uncheck Enable Protected Mode at startup.

9. Install/Uninstall function
Install process is very simple, just unzip the downloaded file to some certain folder you have fully access right, on the other hand, running deletetool.exe in the folder will delete all the files unzipped and index data created.
We recommend you to create searchplus folder in root driver(like c:\searchplusplus or d:\searchplusplus and install the application there. Windows folder or program file folder are not recommended for they are managed by system often requiring special access rights.
